A Hampton-based small business recently landed a $1.25 million contract to develop hybrid-electric drones for the Air Force.
Advanced Aircraft Co. was selected by AFWERX, an innovation arm of the Air Force, to advance its small hybrid advanced multirotor unmanned aircraft system, also known as HAMR, the company announced Jan. 17. The award marks the start of the prototype phase — the second phase of a three-phase project.
